Mapping to Other Taxonomies

vCode

The primary taxonomy used within the DXC Spend Analytics Obersavtory is our in-house vCode taxonomy. To learn more about vCode, please refer to the vCode page, or reach out to the support team at spendanalytics@dxc.com.

We recognise that some customers wish to use other taxonomies in analysing spend, and so we have provided mapping to aid users in translating from vCode to other taxonomies. These mappings include a mapping from each vCode to the most applicable category/code in the respective taxonomy. This is based on the experience and knowledge of the DXC procurement spend analysts.

The intention is customers can use the mappings as they are, or they can be tailored by users to reflect internal preferences or requirements. There are some instances where the vCode matches multiple classifications/codes in each taxonomy, and in these cases DXC have selected the code where typically most spend exists. These are examples where customers could adjust the mapping to suit them best.

Where we believe there is no meaningful equivalent or similar category within the target taxonomy we have not created a mapping. Our belief is that including dissimilar mappings results in misleading analysis.
